The process of ensuring the validity of the tool and the reproductibility of the data collected by the DET-score is defined by the following:
The DET-score will be validated for reproducibility and responsiveness in the Coloplast DialogueStudy, a global clinical study that will enroll 5000 adults who have had a colostomy, ileostomy or urostomy for 6 months. The study is running until June 2010. The clinical investigators play an important role in that process.
The Ostomy Skin Tool website ensures that field experience with the tool is collected and shared through "Dialogue with the Global Advisory Board". This will contribute with important experience based input to the validation of the tool.
